The patented design of the Tumbleweed Compost Tumbler takes the work out of composting by featuring a vertical tumbling action with dual-end, twist lock, animal-resistant vented lids which allow for easy filling and emptying of the bin, while producing maximum aeration.  The Tumbleweed Compost Bin is designed with a stainless steel rod running through the middle. This creates an aerobic action that offers a quick and odorless form of composting. The Tumbleweed Compost Tumbler is held up by sturdy, galvanized tubular steel legs that won't rust. The steel in these legs is made with recycled metal (as available). 

To get started composting, just throw some material into the Tumbleweed compost bin and give it a spin. When the composter gets full and heavy, you can push down on one side and pull up on the other and still make it tumble without much effort at all. You will be impressed with the way the stainless steel rod through the center helps quickly break down the material in the composter with just a few turns, improving the already good compost tumbling action.

Many people prefer tumbling composters because the design makes it easy to keep the compost turned and aerated. A well-aerated bin helps break down materials into ready compost faster. A daily tumble will produce earthy dark brown compost in as little as 21 days if conditions are perfect. Your specific composting time depends on your mix of materials, moisture of the compost, weather, etc. For the best results, we suggest using 75% dry ingredients (leaves, grass clippings, shredded newspaper) and 25% moist waste (vegetable scraps, dead flowers, etc). The composter will work with any blend of organic materials, but it may take longer to complete the process.

The natural bio activator contained in this bottle jumpstarts your newly added material, like leaves, grass and kitchen scraps. Easy to use instructions are on the bottle.

Bio Bags are also included which go into the kitchen countertop pail to hold your kitchen scraps. These bags aren't made from plastic. Instead, they are produced with natural materials that will break down in your composter. Just open your composter and throw it in. 25 bags are included in this kit. The bags break down in 10 to 45 days depending on conditions.
