Our luxurious Organic Cotton or Natural Wool Comforters are filled with organic cotton or natural wool batting, and then covered with organic cotton chambray. Unlike many companies that sew up their "cotton comforters" with synthetic stitching, we only use high strength cotton for our stitching to help your comforter last for years. A Word About Our Wool
Abundant Earth uses wool from sheep raised respectfully on New Hampshire "open range" farms. The sheep are not "dipped" or subjected to chemical exposure in any way, though technically, they are not certified organic. The wool is then processed naturally with hot water and a simple soap wash, unlike traditional "carbonized wool," which is washed with hydrochloric acid, and other chemicals applicants. Tiny pieces of vegetable matter in the wool are a normal occurrence in wool that is naturally processed. Also, our non-carbonized wool retains most of its natural lanolin on the wool fibers, where carbonization typically removes much of this valuable lanolin. Finally, unlike many processed wools, our wool is not treated with any finish chemicals such as chlorine and/or Ultra-fresh.
